Charges of attempted murder, aggravated assault, and additional misdemeanor offenses were held for court at a preliminary hearing last week against a Doylestown Borough woman accused of attacking a man with a cleaver-style knife last month.
Robin McClain McNamara, 51, remains jailed on 10% of $1 million cash bail, stemming from an arrest and arraignment on July 12, 2025.
Central Bucks Regional Police were dispatched to the intersection of South Main and State streets at 8:52 p.m. for an abandoned 911 call.
A second call shortly followed, requesting a welfare check for a female at the same location, police said.
When officers arrived, they encountered McNamara outside the building, her clothing soaked in blood, according to the affidavit.
Police said McNamara admitted the blood came from the victim, telling officers she believed she had broken the victim’s nose.
Inside the apartment, police found the victim covered in blood, suffering from a deep laceration to the back of the head that reached the skull, along with multiple cuts to his shoulders and forearm, and extensive bruising across his back, authorities alleged.
The victim told police McNamara had attacked them with a cleaver-type knife, which was recovered at the scene, police said.
The victim was transported to a nearby trauma center for treatment.
McNamara is also charged with misdemeanor counts of simple assault, reckless endangerment, and possession of an instrument of crime, and summary harassment, according to court records.
She is represented by Doylestown attorney William Penglase
