A two-story single-family home was destroyed by a heavy two-alarm fire Saturday evening in Perkasie Borough.
The fire call came into Bucks County emergency dispatch at 6:54 p.m. for a home on the 200 block of Spring Lane. The development is behind Perkasie Square Shopping Center and Landis Supermarket.
At least half the home was obliterated by the blaze within the hour. A smoke header was visible from five miles away, per eyewitness accounts.
Multiple fire agencies are on scene, including Perkasie, Sellersville, Silverdale, Hilltown, West End, Doylestown, Milford Township, Dublin, and Telford, Tylersport and Perseverance of Souderton in Montgomery County. Perkasie Borough Police are on scene, as well as St. Luke’s Emergency & Transport and Grand View Health Paramedics.
All surrounding roads are closed during the fire.
According to emergency radio traffic, at least one person was treated for smoke inhalation. It is unclear if it is a firefighter or resident.
There were no other reported injuries. The conditions of homeowners or occupants is unknown.
