Three men from the region have either been sentenced or are awaiting sentencing following guilty pleas in separate cases heard in Bucks County Common Pleas Court in recent weeks.
Dublin man sentenced in underage drinking case
Brian William Vanderleeuw, 42, of Dublin Borough, was sentenced to three years of probation after pleading guilty to misdemeanor charges of furnishing liquor to a minor and recklessly endangering another person. The charges stem from an October 2024 incident that left a juvenile hospitalized with alcohol poisoning and a blood-alcohol content of .228%.
Hilltown Township Police said the teen drank Svedka Blue Raspberry vodka, which had been purchased by Vanderleeuw earlier that day. Surveillance footage from the Fine Wine & Good Spirits store in Dublin showed Vanderleeuw buying the vodka, along with other bottles, at 11:48 a.m., according to the affidavit.
As part of the sentence, Vanderleeuw was ordered to repay $250 to the victim and have no contact with the victim or their family. Charges of endangering the welfare of children and corruption of minors were withdrawn at a preliminary hearing earlier this year.
Wayne man pleads guilty to stalking, avoids jail
Richard Michael Szlavik, 37, of Wayne, Delaware County, was sentenced to four years of probation after pleading guilty to a misdemeanor count of stalking. The plea agreement included the dismissal of two misdemeanor counts of filing false reports of child abuse and one count of harassment.
Szlavik was arrested in March 2025 after allegedly trespassing at a home on Reliance Court in Bucks County and violating a protection from abuse order. He was later charged in connection with false abuse reports, court records show.
As part of his sentence, Szlavik must avoid alcohol and drugs, undergo a mental health evaluation by Aug. 15, maintain employment, and have no contact with the victim. He was represented by Media-based attorney Joseph Malley.
Warrington man admits to stealing packages from neighbors
Christopher Michael Scott, 40, of Warrington, pleaded guilty to three felony counts of receiving stolen property and is scheduled to be sentenced in October. The charges stem from a string of package thefts at the Westminster Apartments on Valley Road in November 2024.
Warrington Township Police said residents reported stolen deliveries, and apartment surveillance video captured Scott taking packages from a lobby shortly after they were dropped off by postal and Amazon delivery personnel. A second suspect was also identified, police said.
Scott was originally charged with 25 additional felonies and misdemeanors—including conspiracy to commit identity theft and drug offenses—that were withdrawn at a preliminary hearing. He is represented by attorney Timothy Barton of Doylestown.
All suspects and defendants are innocent until proven guilty. This story was compiled using public court records.
