A Lansdale man accused of picking the lock to a locked occupied Quakertown apartment and then stealing a Mercedes-Benz key fob had a felony and misdemeanor dismissed in Bucks County Common Pleas Court this month and was sentenced to probation under a negotiated guilty plea.
Pharoah S Johnson, 30, of Lansdale, pleaded guilty to two summary counts of disorderly conduct in the March 14, 2025 incident and prosecutors dismissed a felony charge of criminal trespassing and a misdemeanor charge of theft by unlawful taking, according to court records.
Johnson was given 90 days of probation by Common Pleas Judge Raymond F. McHugh.
Police were dispatched to a West Broad Street apartment for a reported break-in by the resident at 1:02 p.m. March 14, who said she was in the bedroom and her door was locked. Police said Johnson picked the lock with a credit card, entered the apartment and stole the key fob, valued at $250, off a counter. He then left the apartment, police said.
The resident told police the lock was still locked when Johnson allegedly left, so she knew he picked the lock, police said.
A Quakertown Police officer located Johnson driving a white 1997 Ford Mercury Sable and stopped the car on South Third Street, police said.
Police said Johnson admitted to entering the apartment without permission and taking the key fob, which was allegedly found on him.
He was represented by Eagleville attorney Nathan Schadler.
All suspects and defendants are innocent until proven guilty. This story was compiled using public court records.
