Liz’s Birthday Closet, a Souderton-based charity that serves local children in need, welcomed the community Wednesday, April 9 with its first open house.
Over 60 community members came out to the Calvary Church property to learn more about the charity and its mission. Among the attendees were members of BAPS Charities’ Lansdale chapter, who will be donating some of the proceeds of its upcoming walkathon to the Closet.
“I’m very grateful that the community has come along and took time out of their busy workday to be part of our mission,” said Sina Cristinzio, founder and Executive Director of Liz’s Birthday Closet.
Launched in 2023, Liz’s Birthday Closet provides free, brand-new birthday toys and party kits to underprivileged children in Bucks and Montgomery counties, with the goal of making every child’s birthday special. Families also receive a range of essential items, including toiletries, school supplies, coats, towels, socks and underwear.
Liz’s Birthday Closet will hold a networking event at Branch Creek Taphouse on April 24 from 5 to 8 p.m. For more information, visit lizsbirthdaycloset.org.
