A leadership transition is on the horizon for Central Bucks School District as Dr. Nadine Garvin, assistant superintendent for elementary education, prepares to retire at the end of May.
According to an email from Superintendent Dr. Steven Yanni, Dr. Garvin has served the district for decades in a variety of roles, and her retirement marks the end of a long-standing commitment to CBSD students, staff, and the wider community.
Following a search and interview process, CBSD has named Dr. Helen Sclama Zaleski as the finalist candidate to succeed Dr. Garvin. The Board will consider her appointment during its meeting on April 24.
If approved, Dr. Zaleski will officially assume the role of Assistant Superintendent for Elementary Education on July 1, Yanni said.
Dr. Zaleski is currently the principal of Titus Elementary School and has previously served as a Spanish teacher and House Principal at CB West. In her upcoming position, she will oversee leadership and instructional direction across all 15 elementary schools in the district.
Dr. Zaleski will remain in her role at Titus through the end of the school year and assist in the transition to a new principal. CBSD will begin the search for a new leader at Titus following her appointment.
Yanni expressed gratitude for Dr. Garvin’s years of service and affirmed the district’s commitment to a smooth transition in leadership.
