Arbor Estates Community presented the First Responder Award to an exceptional individual whose dedication and commitment to serving the community has truly gone above and beyond all expectations.
Officer Makenzie McGowan, of Bristol, has been a shining example of what it means to be a first responder. With a positive attitude and a smile, she consistently shows up to every call, bringing a sense of calm and reassurance to those around her.
Her quick response, attention to detail, and willingness to go the extra mile exemplify her true dedication to promoting a safe and secure environment for all.
In recognition of her exceptional service and unwavering commitment, Arbor Estates Community had the absolute pleasure to award Officer McGowan from Plumstead Police Township with the First Responder Award.
Officer McGowan truly embodies the qualities of a dedicated and caring first responder, and Arbor Estates Community has no doubt that she will continue to inspire others with her exceptional service.

McGowan, who has experience as a part-time officer with Tullytown Borough, was sworn in as an officer on May 8, 2024. She is a 2020 graduate of the Bucks County Technical High School in Fairless Hills. There, she was educated on policing, firefighting and emergency medical services through the school's Emergency Services Program.
McGowan worked toward a degree in Biomedical Sciences at Thomas Jefferson University, before enrolling at Bucks County Community College. In 2023, she enrolled in the Temple University Police Academy and graduated in October 2023.
She scored 91.24% on her final academic score.
Before becoming an officer, McGowan worked as a swim instructor at Bensalem School DIsrict, a resident assistant at Brightview Senior Living Center, and security at Sesame Place. She is a certified instructor in the Management of Aggressive Behavior and holds several certificates in the Federal Emergency Management (FEMA) – National Incident Command System.
