If you want to watch Friday's series opener between the Los Angeles Dodgers and Phillies, you'll need an Apple TV+ subscription.
Friday's game will be exclusively broadcast on Apple TV+, as the streaming service returns as an MLB broadcast partner for the third year. Alex Faust will be the play-by-play announcer, with Ryan Spilborghs serving as the color commentator and Tricia Whitaker the dugout reporter. The game will start at 6:45 ET.
You can still listen to the game on SportsRadio 94 WIP with Scott Franzke on the call.
Friday Night Baseball was actually free to watch when it began in 2023. You just needed to log in using your Apple ID, or create one for free. But last season, they started making you pay to watch, which is shady considering they lured people in the first year by suggesting they wouldn't need to pay an additional fee to watch their team occasionally play on the streaming service.
With that said, $9.99 a month currently gets you access to not only Friday Night Baseball, but everything on the app. I can't recommend Severance enough. You can also sign up for a free seven-day trial here.
Apple TV+ has only released their schedule through June. This is the first of two times the Phillies have been picked for the Friday showcase, as they'll also be on Apple TV+ on Friday, June 20 when they host the New York Mets.
