Warminster Food Bank is pleased to announce that it has finalized a grant that will allow them to expand into a new location at 495 E. County Line Road.

The new site, situated in the Town & Country Shopping Center in Warminster Township, offers plenty of free parking, and is conveniently located for residents in the Warminster area.

With 1,778 square feet of space, Warminster Food Bank will be able to better serve clients who are dealing with food insecurity, as well as accept donations of nonperishable food items. The new space is expected to begin servicing the needs of the community on Wednesday.

The move was made possible by a grant from the John A. Powell Family Foundation of Naples, FL, which will allow the food bank to pay for the lease of the new space for five years, with an option to fund the lease for an additional five years.

While this move was in the works for several months, it was hastened by the Warminster Heights board, which voted to discontinue the food bank’s use of their 75 Downey Drive space after 67 years.

The last day of service at Downey Drive was March 19.

Those who wish to make a donation of a nonperishable food items to Warminster Food Bank can do so beginning Wednesday when the Food Bank reopens at their new location.

“While the Downey Drive location has been home to our organization since its inception in 1958, we knew we needed a larger space to better serve our growing client base,” said Cerino. “From adversity comes opportunity. Immediately after we received notice to vacate the Downey Drive premises, we finalized a grant from the John A. Powell Family Foundation to secure our new leased space. We have generated incredible logistical and monetary support for the move, so we are confident that this new location will give us the opportunity to further our mission of providing services to meet the needs of those experiencing food insecurity in our community.”
