NOVA, the leading non-profit organization in Bucks County supporting victims of crime, will honor and recognize the following awareness dates throughout the month of April: Sexual Assault Awareness Month, Child Abuse Prevention Month and National Crime Victims’ Rights Week from April 6-12. These dates provide the organization with an opportunity to raise awareness of these issues and educate the community about the resources NOVA provides to victims and survivors.
NOVA will offer a variety of programs and events throughout the month of April to commemorate these awareness dates and all are invited to take part, either in-person or online. Events include:
April 7, 2025 at 6:00 p.m.: Book Club discussion of Somebody’s Daughter: A Memoir by Ashley C. Ford, in honor of Sexual Assault Awareness Month, to be held at NOVA’s headquarters, located at 2370 York Road, Suite B1, Jamison, PA. Light refreshments will be provided.
April 9 at 6:00 p.m.: Sexting & Sextortion: Talking with Your Teens About the Dangers of Online Exploitation. This online program will discuss some of the dangers teens and tweens are facing with the increased use of technology. The goal of the program is to provide a better understanding of the serious and emergent concerns regarding online exploitation. Clothesline Project – Throughout the month of April, NOVA will be participating in the Clothesline Project. The purpose of this initiative is to raise awareness of the impact of violence and abuse, to honor a survivor’s strength to continue, and to provide another avenue for survivors to break the silence that often surrounds their experiences. If you would like to write a message or decorate a paper shirt for NOVA’s Clothesline, they will be available at any of NOVA’s April events, and in the lobby of NOVA’s offices throughout the month of April. People can also leave a comment or send NOVA a private message through NOVA’s Facebook page and a Clothesline shirt will be filled out by a NOVA staff member on the person’s behalf. Survivors are also invited to share their stories or an inspiration in their healing journey.
