Warrington Police have announced a newly-formed Traffic Safety Unit, which will be dedicated to focused enforcement of traffic laws, supervised by Lt. Glen Gottenberg.

Officers will conduct traffic studies, enforce speed zones on roadways by using ROBIC and ENRADD technologies, police said.

The new unit will coordinate with the Patrol Division to focus their efforts on areas where serious traffic crashes occur. It will also look to include areas of community concern.

Officers will participate in Pennsylvania state funded initiatives focusing on aggressive driving, pedestrian safety, and seat belt enforcement, police said.

Warrington residents can find educational information from the TSU posted regularly on the police department’s social media page. They will also coordinate with PennDOT as needed to suggest engineering changes when called for-addressing all traffic related concerns through enforcement, education and engineering.

"We are committed to enhancing the safety of our roads,” said Warrington Police Chief Daniel J. Friel. “The new Traffic Safety Unit will focus on enforcement of traffic laws, ensuring that our community can travel with peace of mind. Together, we can create safer streets for everyone."

Traffic complaints can be submitted to Warrington Township Police here.
