Man injured after being hit by car while crossing in crosswalk Thursday morning

The incident occurred in Perkasie Borough on Callowhill Road.

A 70-year-old man was hit by a car Thursday morning in Perkasie Borough and taken to Grand View Hospital by St. Luke’s Hospital medics after suffering injuries in the accident.

Perkasie Borough Police said the accident and its cause remain under investigation. The man was bleeding profusely from the head, but was conscious, per reports from the scene.

On Thursday at 7:15 a.m., police responded to Callowhill Road and Dorchester Lane for a report of a struck pedestrian.

Police said the man was hit by a Volkswagen Jetta as he crossed in the crosswalk. The car was eastbound on Callowhill Road, per reports.

The driver of the Jetta immediately stopped his car and is cooperating with the investigation, police said.

Perkasie Police were assisted by Perkasie Fire Co. and the Bucks County District Attorney’s Office CRASH Team.
