The addition of Eric Asta and Brandon Go represents a 40% increase in firefighting power.
Warminster Township has two new firefighters on duty in their existing weekday career firefighter program.
The addition of Eric Asta, a resident of Elkins Park in Cheltenham, and Brandon Go, a resident of Warminster, represents a 40% increase in firefighting power and will significantly reduce turnout time when the community calls upon Warminster Township Fire Services for help.
Asta previously served as a volunteer firefighter with the Elkins Park Fire Company and worked as a part-time firefighter with the Union Fire Company, of Bala Cynwyd, the Harmonville Fire Company of Plymouth Meeting, and the Barron Hill Fire Company of Lafayette Hill. He is a graduate of Cheltenham High School and has an associate’s degree in fire science from Bucks County Community College.
Go previously served as a volunteer firefighter with the Warminster Township Fire Department and the Nottingham Fire Company of Bensalem, and worked as a full-time Emergency Medical Technician with the Bensalem Rescue Squad. He is a graduate of William Tennent High School and has a bachelor’s degree in business from Drexel University.
Adding Asta and Go will increase Warminster Township Fire Services daytime career staffing to five firefighters.
“This staffing model complements the volunteer firefighting forces of the Warminster Township Fire Department and the Hartsville Fire Company that have both trained and responded to fire and rescue emergencies 24 hours a day, seven days a week in our community for the last 100 years,” said Joseph Velten, Director, Emergency Management & Services, Warminster Township. “We are excited to have them on our team and welcome them to our community.”
