Eagles Spank Bengals and Social Media Explodes

  • Eagles

The Eagles entered Sunday holding a 4-2 record, but looking nothing like Super Bowl contenders.

Their 37-17 win over the Bengals in Cincinnati may open some eyes.

Sure, this Cincy team isn't exactly the '72 Dolphins. But they're solid and put up good fights in losses against the Chiefs (26-25 final), Ravens (41-38 OT final), and Commanders (38-33 final). And the Birds outscored them 37-10 over the game's final three quarters.

The Eagles failed once again to score in the first quarter. Cincinnati ate up over ten minutes of clock with a surgical, 17-play drive to open the game.

But it was mostly Eagles from there. Jalen Hurts played terrific, turnover-free football.

Hurts had to battle a wardrobe malfunction in the middle of it all.

Saquon Barkley balled out as well, with 22 carries for 108 yards. But no touchdowns, much to the chagrin of fantasy football managers around the world.

How about this run, though?? Bonus points for not killing the camera guy.

On the defensive side of the ball, the Eagles continued to struggle in 3rd and long situations. But they came through with some big plays against Joe Burrow and his talented receivers:

If you considered the Birds' recent victories over the Browns and Giants "wins to build on," then, well, this effort was exactly the building you hoped for.

The Birds play a struggling Jaguars team at home next week.
