This holiday season, Doylestown Township is inviting bakers and decorators of all ages to showcase their best gingerbread house designs.
Whether you’re a master builder or a first-time baker, this is your chance to construct a sweet masterpiece and compete for the title of best gingerbread house in town! For more information and preregistration click here.
Join us on Monday, Dec. 9 at 425 Wells Road to deliver your entry, and let your imagination run wild with edible materials like icing, candy, and gingerbread (no kits allowed!).
Categories include Youth (Under 18), Adult (18+), and Family/Group – so there’s a spot for everyone! Winners will be announced on December 17th during the Township Board Meeting, and each will take home two movie passes to Regal Theaters.

Gingerbread House Competition Rules
1. Edible Materials: All components of the entry must be made from edible materials. Acceptable materials include gingerbread, icing, candies, cookies, crackers, cereal, and pasta. Items such as gum paste, fondant, and chocolate are also permitted. All unwrapped candies must be free of foil or plastic wrapping, and lollipops should not have paper or plastic stems. Perishable items are not allowed.
2. Structure Requirements: The primary structure of the entry must be composed of at least 75% gingerbread, with a portion of the gingerbread visibly exposed. The structure should include a roof and walls. A sturdy base, such as cardboard, foam core, or wood, should be used to support the entry. The base size should not exceed 18 inches by 18 inches and must be strong enough to support the entry without bending or bowing.
3. Originality: Entries must be entirely original, with no use of pre-made gingerbread kits. Creativity is encouraged.
4. Decorations: Decorations should be made using edible materials. Electric lighting is permitted, but the use of non-edible structural supports, such as Styrofoam or wood, is not allowed.
5. Submission Guidelines: All entries must be delivered to the Doylestown Township Building on Monday, December 9, between 8:30 a,m. and 4:30 p.m. Each entry must be accompanied by a completed entry form.
6. Judging and Winners: Voting will take place both in person and on Doylestown Township’s social media pages. The Board of Trustees will announce the winners during the Board Meeting on Tuesday, December 17th. There is one winner per category: Youth (Under 18), Adult (18+), and Family/Group. The winners will receive two movie passes to Regal Theaters, winner of the Family/Group category will receive four passes, which can be collected at the Doylestown Township Building.
