A Doylestown man has been charged with felony offenses of burglary and criminal trespassing after breaking into a home to steal a $160 record player in Doylestown Borough.
Central Bucks Regional Police charged Jason S Brown, 50, of the 4100 block of Route 202, with additional misdemeanor charges of stalking repeatedly to cause fear, harassment, theft, receiving stolen property, and defiant trespassing, according to the criminal complaint.
On Oct. 10, at 2:55 p.m., police were called to the 200 block of Sandy Ridge Drive for a burglary that had occurred at the home, per the affidavit.
Upon arrival to the home, police found the rear sliding glass door broken and the victim told them a record player valued at $160 was taken from the living room, per the complaint.
The victim told police she noticed her rear door ajar between 5:50 p.m. and 6:10 p.m., and confirmed with a dog walker that the front door was used during a visit, police said.
Police also allege Brown repeatedly texted the victim to the point where the victim blocked his number. The victim eventually went upstairs to her bedroom and found her diary open with handwriting that the victim recognized as Brown’s, police said.
Police located Brown’s Jeep Liberty at his home, and the record player, police allege, was in plain view in the backseat.
All suspects and defendants are innocent until proven guilty. This story was compiled using public court records.
