Doylestown Township is $13,000 away from its “Build the Bathrooms” campaign at Central Park.
An anonymous donors has pledged a $25,000 match toward the campaign, and, with a recent $553 donation from Supervisor Barbara Lyons, the township is $13,000 away from unlocking the full match.
“We’re only $13,000 away from matching the donation for the bathroom project. We got down to $13,000 due to a generous contribution from Supervisor Lyons this evening,” said Supervisors Chair Jennifer Herring at the Oct. 15 meeting.
“That means we have met our match completely, correct?” asked Manager Stephanie Mason.
“That’s what it means,” said Herring.
Doylestown Township’s “Walk No Further: Build the Bathrooms” campaign aims to bring bathrooms with full accessibility to the park.
The township is in the midst of a comprehensive plan to revitalize its park with a Community Recreation Center and brand-new outdoor sports courts.
Furthermore, the project will have new bathrooms in the Amphitheater and Kids Castle areas.
As part of the township’s fundraising efforts, its fundraising campaign is focused on building the new permanent and accessible facilities.
According to the township, the bathrooms will be strategically located to ensure they are accessible from key areas within the park. The township also wants to have bathrooms that are made of durable materials and smart features to reduce upkeep.
“This means every dollar you donate will be doubled, making an even greater impact on our beloved Central Park. Help us reach our goal and enhance our park. Your support matters now more than ever,” states the township website.
