Fire crews knock down bamboo fire quickly Friday night on Warrington-Doylestown border

The fire was called in around 10:15 p.m. on Bristol Road.

Fire crews from Doylestown Fire Co., Warrington Fire and Chalfont Fire battled a bamboo field fire Friday night on the 3200 block of Bristol Road on the Warrington Township-Doylestown Township border.


According to Bucks County emergency dispatch, the fire was growing quickly and about 40 feet from a residence on Bristol Road near the intersection with Klein Court. 

Smoke was visible in the sky about two miles from the scene. 

According to dispatch reports, a homeowner reported hearing popping near an electrical pole by the field fire. PECO has been called to the scene.

The fire was put under control within 20 minutes.

Bristol Road is closed between Lower State Road and Klein Court. 

Doylestown Township Police assisted at the scene.
