Perkasie Borough Police are seeking the whereabouts of a Philadelphia man with an active warrant for two felony forgeries and other charges, who is aware of his warrant and has refused to turn himself in, police said.
Idris Shaquille Yuzon, 27, of the 8200 block of Williams Avenue, was charged September 2023 by police with two counts each of felony forgery, misdemeanor theft by deception, and receiving stolen property for allegedly altering someone else’s personal bank check to a different payee name and amount, per court documents.
According to an affidavit, on Aug. 10, 2023, Perkasie Police received a report from a victim residing on the unit block of N. Branch Street regarding check fraud. The victim told police that two personal checks that were mailed at the exterior post office box outside the Sellersville Post Office were altered and cashed out of the bank account, police said.
One check that was payable to “Sellersville Borough” for $183.34, but Yuzon allegedly change the payee to his own name and the amount to $423.34.
The second check was written for $189.90 and payable to “Citicards,” but police allege Yuzon altered the check for $1,189.90 and wrote himself as the payee.
The checks, police said, had the payee name and amount changed, which were different from the original written name and amount.
Through an investigation and interviews, police allege Yuzon committed the forgery and successfully cashed both checks.
On Aug. 17, police served a search warrant at Wells Fargro Bank regarding information on the two cashed checks, per the affidavit. Police said both checks were cashed in-person at the Telford branch on and at the Lansdale branch on Aug. 4, 2023.
Wells Fargo surveillance showed Yuzon cashing both checks, police said.
Authorities said they were familiar with Yuzon from past incidents, and interviewed him on Sept. 20, 2023.
Yuzon, police allege, confirmed he was the man in the surveillance videos and admitted to cashing both checks.
