Plumstead Township Police this week welcomed a new member to their force.
Junior Rivas-Breton was sworn in at the Plumstead Township Board of Supervisors session Wednesday night as a full-time officer.
Rivas-Breton graduated high school in Warwick, Rhode Island, where he excelled in baseball and track, ranking as the No. 2 pitcher in the state and No. 7 in the state in the 200- and 400-meter sprints.
Rivas-Breton moved to the Philadelphia area and graduated from the Temple University Police Academy, police said.
After graduating the police academy, he worked with the Tullytown Borough Police Department as a sworn officer from December 2022 to August of 2023.
He then became an officer with the Bristol Township Police Department from August 2023 to February of 2024.
Rivas-Breton is multi-lingual, speaking Spanish and Portuguese, police said.
