Emergency responders in Bucks County reported to a call of a fire and the need for an “extrication with fire” following a vehicle accident on Thursday night.
Around 9:04 p.m., calls for first responders were sent out in the Sellersville area for an accident around Ninth Street, between North Main Street and Jessica Lane. Initial reports from the scene noted that there was a vehicle on fire, and that rescue help was required to free the vehicle’s occupants.
Upon arrival, rescuers found an SUV on its side with severe burn damage to the vehicle. It had crashed through a cemetery fence behind St. Agnes Roman Catholic Church and is resting on marked graves at this time.
Witnesses at the scene reported that the people involved in the accident were all able to be removed from the debris, though one of the occupants allegedly fled on foot following extrication.
Traffic is closed in both directions on Ninth Street between Main and Jessica. No traffic is permitted in the area, and drivers should avoid the intersections.
Chal-Brit Regional Emergency Medical Services responded to the scene, along with Sellersville Fire Company and area police services. Some police units appear to be searching for one of the persons involved in the incident, with spotlights and slow-moving patrol cars in the vicinity.
