Pennsylvania State Police out of Dublin Boorugh are investigating a report of a theft involving a vehicle worth $6,000 in Warminster Township.

Police reported Thursday that a 52-year-old Mertztown woman, on Aug. 7, purchased a 1997 Ford F250 Supercab pickup for $6,000 via a private sale with valid state inspection stickers on it, per the complaint.

The victim told police the purchase was contingent upon the safety inspection, police said.

An investigation revealed that not only was the pickup fraudulently inspected, but the seller, located on the 40th block of York Road, also knew of the deficiencies prior to the sale, police said.

The investigation remains ongoing.
