If you are a New Britain Borough or Warrington Township taxpayer, congratulations – you are one of the homeowners with some of the highest tax bills in Bucks County.

Quakertown, Telford, and Buckinhgam Township residents, on the contrary, have a little more coin in the pocket, as they are three of the 10 municipalities with the lowest average real estate taxes in the county.

According to the Bucks County Courier Times and Bucks County tax parcel data, the average Bucks County homeowner has a bill of about $500 this year, but the burden can be as high as $1,600.

Per the report, New Britain Borough has the second-highest tax bill in the county, just behind Solebury, with a tax rate of 42.55 mills. The borough’s breakdown: $1,125 property tax based on an average tax assessed value of $26,437 at a rate of 42.55 mills, according to the report.

Warrington is fourth, per the report: $957 property tax based on an average tax assessed value of $37,098 at a rate of 25.79 mills.

Of those in Upper Bucks County with the lowest average property tax bills, with some paying under $100, per the report, Quakertown is the lowest: $32 property tax based on an average tax assessed value of $19,559 at a rate of 1.625 mills.

Telford came in sixth, with a $167 property tax based on an average tax assessed value of $23,439 at a rate of 7.14 mills, according to the article.

Buckingham and West Rockhill were ninth and 10th respectively. Per the report, Buckingham has a $208 property tax based on an average tax assessed value of $52,057 at a rate of 4.0 mills, and West Rockhill Township has a $228 property tax based on an average tax assessed value of $31,401 at a rate of 7.25 mills.
