Central Bucks School District has set its 2024-25 graduation date for a Wednesday night instead of a Friday.
Superintendent Dr. Steven Yanni said June 11, 2025 will be graduation day for the Class of 2025.
“The last day of school is a Friday, and as you might imagine, we have some concerns of doing graduation on a Friday night,” Yanni said at this month’s school board session. “As a superintendent, there are a couple nights out of the year that I don’t sleep: prom and graduation. We have decided not to put graduation on a Friday night.”
June 11 will be a half-day for everyone, he said.
“It’s a courtesy to everybody involved. There are many staff members who attend graduation,” Yanni said. “The last day of the year, that Friday, is a half day. And there’s a half day in the middle as well.”
He said those three consecutive half days will be “meaningful.”
“Graduation is set and we are manifesting by putting it out in the universe that we’re going to have beautiful weather on June 11,” he said.
