A SEPTA Transit Police officer has been arrested by the FBI on charges of distributing child pornography, according to court records and KYW NewsRadio.
Brian Zenszer, 43, from Warminster Township, was detained on Nov. 6, following an investigation that began after the FBI received a tip in September.
The FBI's probe revealed that Zenszer, who serves as a Transit Police officer for SEPTA, allegedly shared multiple images and videos of suspected child pornography through the messaging app Kik.
In response to the federal arrest, SEPTA officials announced that Zenszer had been placed on administrative leave, with plans for his termination. They expressed concern over the "disturbing" nature of the allegations and assured the public that they were fully cooperating with the FBI, per the report.
SEPTA further stated that, to date, there are no allegations of Zenszer being involved in any criminal activities related to his duties within the Transit Police. However, the department emphasized its commitment to handling the case with the utmost seriousness, according to the report.
