Multiple fire agencies on scene of four-alarm warehouse fire Tuesday afternoon

An emergency "mayday" was declared around 1:30 p..m., per Montgomery County Emergency Radio dispatch, and all firefighting units have been immediately evacuated and accounted for from a major four-alarm warehouse fire at Dorman Products in Hatfield Township, as of 1:48 p.m.

Almost 30 area fire departments and emergency personnel from Montgomery and Bucks counties responded at 12:54 p.m. Tuesday to a large interior warehouse fire at the business at East Walnut Street and County Line Road in the Colmar area of the township.


At least 50 employees were evacuated safely and are out of the building by 1 p.m., per Montgomery County emergency radio traffic. Dispatch initially reported a building fire in a warehouse at the business at 3400 E. Walnut St. with the fire reaching the ceiling and spreading.

According to reports from the scene, there was no visible fire on the exterior of the building, albeit a large amount of white smoke coming through the roof.

At 2 p.m., fire officials requested to begin opening garage doors of the building to start ventilation, per emergency radio reports.

The fire was reported under control by 3:15 p.m.


A Montgomery County Hazardous Materials Response Team had been called in to assist, as well as five ambulances from VMSC EMS and a VMSC unmanned aerial vehicle.

Responding units include Colmar Fire Co., Fairmount Fire Co. of Lansdale, Horsham Fire Co., Hatfield Vol. Fire Co., Fire Department of Montgomery Township, Centre Square Fire Co., North Penn Vol. Fire Co., Wissahickon Fire Co., Perseverance Fire Co. of Souderton, Telford Fire Co., Towamencin Vol. Fire Co., Upper Gwynedd Fire Co., Harleysville Fire Co., Lower Frederick Township Fire, Pennsburg Fire Co., Red Hill Fire Co., Tylersport Fire Co., Worcester Fire Co., Enterprise of Hatboro Fire Co., North Penn Goodwill Service, and Ft. Washington Fire Co. in Montgomery County, and Perkasie Fire Co., Sellersville Fire Co., Silverdale Fire Co., Hilltown Township Fire Co., Doylestown Fire Co., and Hartsville Fire Co. of Warminster in Bucks County.
