A Hilltown Township man has been charged with felony attempted aggravated assault to cause serious bodily injury and summary harassment for allegedly attacking a man with a broken end table, causing a gash in the victim’s head.

Jordan Handschuh, 31, of the 10th block of Yarrow Court is free on 10% of $8,000 cash bail ahead of a Nov. 26 preliminary hearing before Magisterial District Judge Regina Armitage. Handschuh’s bail was reduced from 10% of $35,000 cash bail, per court documents.

On Oct. 19 at 8:02 p.m., police were dispatched to Handschuh’s home, where a victim reported he was struck in the head with a table, per the complaint.

Upon arrival, police found the victim laying on the floor, severely bleeding from a large gash on the top of his head, police said.

The victim told police he got into an argument with Handschuh, which turned into a physical fight between them, per the affidavit. The victim got stuck between a bed and the wall, at which point Handschuh allegedly began kicking and punching him, before picking up a broken end table and swinging it at the victim’s head.

All suspects and defendants are innocent until proven guilty. This story was compiled using public court records.
