A truck ran into a telephone pole on Friday evening, just after 5 p.m., along Warwick’s Mearns Road, causing the driver’s doors to be removed for extraction.

Emergency crews were dispatched to the 1800 block of Mearns Road, near the Industrial Park, in Warwick on Friday, July 26 at 5:04 p.m. for an accident with injuries, including an auto extrication. The driver’s door was removed by responding crews to allow the driver to exit the vehicle.

A light blue Toyota Tacoma pick-up truck was seen off of the roadway, surrounded by small trees and brush. The truck had sustained front, driver’s-side, and passenger’s side damages. The driver was transported from the scene via ambulance for medical attention.

Debris from the wreckage could be seen leading from a damaged telephone pole to the truck, at rest in the greenery. Police at the scene were investigating possible tire marks along the roadside. The truck appeared to have gone off of the road’s shoulder, into the grassy area, striking a pole before coming to rest approximately 50 yards from the starting point of the tire tracks.

Responding to the emergency were crews from the City of Warwick Police Department, Warwick Township Fire Company No. 1 and fire police, and the Central Bucks Emergency Medical Services Unit 174.
