Despite the absence of its carnival this year, the Sellersville Fire Department is keeping the tradition of fireworks alive, thanks to the continued support of a $4,000 donation from A&T Chevrolet-Subaru.

The fireworks display, a staple of the Sellersville Fire Department Carnival, will return as the grand finale of the Sellersville Borough Winterfest celebration on Saturday, Dec. 14. This year’s Winterfest event also marks the 150th anniversary of Sellersville borough, and the fireworks will help light up the skies during the evening’s festivities, said a Sellersville borough press release.

“We’re thrilled to support the Sellersville Fire Department again, even without the carnival this year,” said Jeff Allen, president of A&T Chevrolet-Subaru. “The fireworks are a tradition we didn’t want to miss, and we’re proud to be a part of Winterfest and the 150th anniversary celebrations.”

Winterfest will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. along Main Street in Sellersville. The event will feature music at various locations, Santa’s arrival for photo opportunities, activities at the Sellersville Fire House, s’mores around the fire pit, crafts and games throughout town, horse and carriage rides up and down Main Street, a holiday passport to be eligible for prizes upon completion, special menus and sales at borough eateries and local shops and much more.

Main Street will be closed from Elm Street to East Church Street so attendees can safely enjoy the festive atmosphere. The event also includes a shuttle bus, courtesy of A&T Chevrolet-Subaru, to carry attendees from Main Street to the Wonderland of Trees on display at the Sellersville Museum and special music performances taking place at St. Michael’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, said the release.

“We are grateful for A&T Chevrolet-Subaru’s continued support,” said Greg Swierzewski, president of the Sellersville Fire Department. “We’re excited that the community can still enjoy the fireworks as part of Winterfest.
