Cinema has The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, and Bucks County allegedly has the Milford Chainsaw Menacer.

A Quakertown man was allegedly swinging a chainsaw at motorists on Brick Tavern Road in Milford Township last week, shortly after he reportedly smashed out multiple windows of a building and a pickup truck with garden shears.

Eric Lee Trainer, 51, was charged with felony criminal mischief – damaging property and four misdemeanor counts of resisting arrest, because he tried to flee from four State troopers serving an active arrest warrant, police said.

On Dec. 4, at 7:40 a.m., troopers from Pennsylvania State Police’s Dublin barracks responded to the 200 block of Brick Tavern Road for a report of a man, identified as Trainer, walking on the roadway threatening drivers with a chainsaw, police said.

Authorities said Trainer also just smashed out several windows of a truck and of a building on a Brick Tavern Road property.

It was revealed that Trainer had an active arrest warrant filed by the Bucks County Sheriff’s Office, police said.

Upon arrival to the property, police found Trainer in a driveway speaking with a State Trooper, per the affidavit. Trainer was highly agitated and was shouting obscenities and incoherent statements, police said.

A second trooper attempted to de-escalate the situation, without success, police said. Trainer allegedly attempted to enter a nearby building, at which time four troopers attempted to take him into custody.

Trainer allegedly resisted arrest and continued to shout incoherently, police said. After a three-minute struggle, Trainer was taken into custody, per the report.

Police found an outbuilding on the property had two windows with smashed panes and damaged framing, a door with a smashed window, and an eight-foot section of siding ripped off the building, per the complaint.

Furthermore, a blue 2003 GMC pickup was found with a smashed windshield, smashed rear windshield, smashed driver and passenger side windows, and multiple dents to the passenger door and driver side bed, police said.

Witnesses told police that a resident of the home came outside that morning and saw fresh damage to the pickup truck and Trainer walking on Brick Tavern Road with a chainsaw, per the affidavit.

Other witnesses relayed to authorities that they came onto the property that morning to go hunting and found the damaged building and truck, police said. When a resident told the witnesses that Trainer was acting erratically, they left the area for their safety and saw Trainer walking on the road, swinging a chainsaw, police said.

Investigators found a three-foot-long pair of pruning shears on the passenger seat of the damaged pickup truck, which they allege was used to damage the building and pickup truck.

A Craftsman gas-powered chainsaw was found beside the entrance to the damaged building and was seized as evidence, police said.

Police estimated damages at $500 for the building windows and $1,000 for the exterior door.

Trainer was remanded to Bucks County jail on 10% of $100,000 cash bail and a preliminary hearing is set for Dec. 19 at 12:30 p.m. before Magisterial District Judge Lisa J. Gaier.

All suspects and defendants are innocent until proven guilty. This story was compiled using public court records.
