Milford Fire Co. responded to the scene of a two-vehicle crash on John Fries Highway in Milford Township last week after both cars involved caught fire.

Pennsylvania State Police out of Dublin said a 2002 Nissan Pathfinder, driven by a 42-year-old woman from Pennsburg, was stopped northbound at a stop sign on Klines Mill Road at Route 663/John Fries Highway at 3:40 p.m. Nov. 29.

A 2023 Jeep Wrangler, driven by a 26-year-old man with a 25-year-old female passenger, both from La Jolla, California, was southbound on Route 663, police said.

The Pathfinder went through the intersection into the path of the Wrangler, police said. The Nissan’s front right area hit the Jeep’s front left area, and the momentum from the Jeep caused the Nissan to spin counterclockwise 90 degrees, police said.

The momentum stopped when the Nissan’s passenger side hit the Pathfinder’s driver side, per the complaint. Both vehicles then veered off the roadway: The Jeep slammed into a guardrail with its front right, police said. Both came to rest on a berm and then caught fire, police said.

The Nissan driver had a suspected minor injury, but was not transported, per the complaint. She was also cited for violations of stop signs and yield signs, police said.

Police said it is unknown if either occupant of the Jeep were injured and neither were transported by EMS.
