State Senator Katie Muth (D-Chester/Montgomery/Berks), chair of the Pennsylvania Senate Democratic Policy Committee, will join Senator Maria Collett (D-Montgomery) and state Reps. Greg Scott (D-Montgomery) and Brian Munroe (D-Bucks) to co-host a public hearing next week in Bucks County to discuss proposals to address the use of Per- and Polyfluoroalkyl Substances (PFAS) in industrial and consumer applications.
The hearing will be held Friday, September 6 at 11 a.m. at the Warminster Township Building located at 401 Gibson Ave. in Warminster. The hearing will also accommodate virtual participation and anyone interested in participating via Zoom can click here to register.
The hearing will feature two panels of discussion that will highlight public health impacts caused by PFAS and policy solutions that would address the use of PFAS. Scientific studies have shown that exposure to certain levels of PFAS may lead to reproductive effects in pregnant women, developmental effects or delays in children, and interference with the body’s natural hormones, among other health risks.
