A joint investigation into the cause of the fire at Grand View Hospital on Sunday night is being undertaken by the Bucks County Fire Marshal’s Office and Pennridge Regional Police Department, police said Monday morning.

Nearly 20 fire companies from Bucks and Montgomery counties responded at 8:24 p.m. to the hospital at 700 Lawn Avenue in West Rockhill Township, police said.

Upon arrival, fire personnel encountered numerous activated fire alarms and personnel found areas of the hospital experiencing a smoke condition, police said.

The fire was found in a maintenance/equipment room, contained to a small area of the hospital, per the report.

There were no injuries and police said a few patients had to be evacuated to another area of the hospital.

The fire was clear by 10 p.m. and patients were returned to their rooms shortly thereafter. Grand View Hospital was closed temporarily during the event, with ambulance services on standby for arriving patients.
