A Chalfont man faces numerous felony DUI charges for the third time involving an incident where he is accused of driving drunk in Buckingham Township with a juvenile in the car.

Ryan Stephen Busik, 29, of the 3400 block of County Line Road, was charged Aug. 12 by Buckingham Township Police with felony charges of fleeing or attempting to elude police, DUI of the third offense, DUI with a BAC greater than .16% of the third offense, and DUI of a controlled substance and combination of alcohol and drugs of the third offense, and misdemeanor charges of reckless endangerment of another person and accidents involving damage to an attended vehicle, per court documents.

Busik remains at Bucks County jail in lieu of 10% of $100,000 cash bail, set at arraignment by Magisterial District Judge John T. Galloway, per court records.

On Aug. 11 at 3:18 p.m., police were called to a hit-and-run accident at Mechanicsville Road and Route 413 in Buckingham Township. While en route, dispatch advised police that the striking vehicle, a silver 2006 Honda CRV, was stopped on Anderson Road and Stover Trail, police said.

Police arrived on location at 3:24 p.m. and met with the victim, who said he was rear-ended on Route 202 at Route 413 by the Honda, allegedly driven by Busik.

After the victim was rear-ended, Busik left the scene and turned onto Route 413, police said. The victim followed Busik to Anderson Road and then onto Stover Trail.

While police were talking with the victim, a silver Honda CRV was driving toward police on Stover Trail, per the complaint. Police ordered Busik to stop multiple times, but he drove past police and fled on Anderson Road toward Route 413, police said.

When Busik drove past police, a juvenile was seen in the backseat, police said.

Police located Busik’s car driving north on Route 413, tailgating a vehicle, per the affidavit. Busik, police said, turned left onto Church Road and began speeding. Police lost sight of Busik’s car as it drove down Church Road, that is until they came upon an accident scene where Busik crashed into a retaining wall at 4395 Church Road, police said.

Busik and the juvenile were outside the vehicle, and when police met Busik, they detected alcohol on his breath, per the complaint. He also had glassy, watery eyes and slurred speech and was staggering on his feet, per the report.

Multiple beer cans were found on the passenger side floor, police said.

Busik was arrested and searched for weapons, before being returned to the hit-and-run scene, where he was identified as the driver of the CRV, police said.

Central Bucks Ambulance arrived on scene to evaluate Busik, who was then taken to St. Mary Medical Center, per the affidavit. The juvenile, police said, was also taken to the same hospital.

Busik was read the PennDOT Chemical Testing Warnings twice, police said, and then Busik said, “Can I think about it?” According to the report, Busik refused chemical testing.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Sept. 12 at 9 a.m. before Magisterial District Judge Maggie Snow.

All suspects and defendants are innocent until proven guilty. This story was compiled using public court records.
