Doylestown Township knows how to communicate with citizens so well, it was awarded for it Tuesday night.
Linda Brinker, of the Office of State Rep. Tim Brennan, presented the board of supervisors at their meeting with a citation from the State House for its “Outstanding Citizen Communication Award” from the Pennsylvania Association of Township Supervisors.
“Whereas the House of Representatives of Pennsylvania is always pleased to recognize those municipalities that, through adherence of the highest standards of service, contribute to the well-being of their communities, and ultimately to all the people of the Commonwealth, and whereas Doylestown Township is being honored with the 2024 Outstanding Citizen Communication Award by the Pennsylvania State Association of Township Supervisors,” said Brinker, “and whereas the Outstanding Citizen Communication Award recognizes two communities each year for their achievements in communicating with their residents through print communication and other media, in the past year, Doylestown Township has made its efforts to improve its communication, by publishing a weekly email newsletter to keep residents informed, and also uses social media and a government access channel to best communicate with its residents.”
Brinker said, in addition to winning the award, Doylestown Township tied for first place in the “Most Improved Newsletter” and “Social Media” categories, and tied for third place in the “Other Publications” category.
“Now, we pay tribute to Doylestown Township upon its well-deserved recognition and (the State House) offers best wishes for the continued tradition of success and leadership in local government and initiatives,” Brinker said.
Board Chair Jennifer Herring said all credit goes to the township staff.
“They do such amazing work with our communities over the years,” Herring said.
“As a resident of Doylestown Township,” said Brinker, “I’m proud of it.”
