A New York man with several active warrants from numerous jurisdictions was arrested in Bergen County, New Jersey and extradited back to Warrington Township on July 30 to answer for felony retail theft charges related to the theft of $4,487 in sunglasses.
Jonaycker Eduardo Degouveria-Suearez, 25, of The Bronx, was charged with felony retail theft and felony receiving stolen property stemming from the June 1 incident, per court documents.
On June 1, Warrington Township Police responded to Sunglass Hut at 1548 Main Street for a report of a retail theft, police said.
Staff told police that DeGouveria-Suearez and another woman entered the store and went to the expensive sunglasses area, police said. DeGouveria-Suearez selected $4,487 worth of sunglasses and then concealed them in a bag before exiting the store without paying, per the complaint.
DeGouveria-Suearez was arraigned by Magisterial District Judge Stacy Wertman, who set bail at 10% of $150,000 cash, per court documents.
Police said DeGouveria-Suearez had several outstanding warrants and was unable to post bail.
