Emergency crews were dispatched around 2:20 p.m. on Friday to 432 Maple Ave., in Doylestown for the report of a fire. The address is the Harborview Rehabilitation and Care Center, a long-term and rehabilitation center to support those recovering from illness or injury or are unable to care for themselves as they age, according to its website.
Smoke was visible from the scene. Early reports noted that the building’s sprinkler system may have assisted in knocking down the fire. The county's health department is being requested to the scene, as witnesses report the fire was exposed to the kitchen.
Chalfont Fire Company, Doylestown Fire Company, and Warwick Fire Department have responded to assist in the fire.
