Chapman Road Bridge over Pine Run has been reopened as of Wednesday after a two-week closure, per Doylestown Township Police.
On Aug. 2, PennDOT directed the township to temporarily close the Chapman Road bridge, pending further evaluation for structural integrity and safety, police said.
Upon the completion of the evaluation, PennDOT has enforced that the bridge be posted with a 10-ton weight limit sign, police said.
The bridge is scheduled to be replaced in 2025, due to its conditions, according to the township.
According to the Delaware Valley Regional Planning Commission, the bridge will be rehabilitated or replaced, which is determined upon federal National Environmental Policy Act or state Categorical Exclusion clearance.
