An attempted child abduction occurred on Friday afternoon in Warrington Township and police are requesting assistance from the public.
Police said the attempted abduction occurred around 3:15 p.m. in the area of Continental Drive and Liberty Lane.
Police are looking for an older model white full-size pickup truck, possibly a Chevrolet. The vehicle has rust on the fender over the rear tires and damage to the front passenger side bumper, police said.
The suspect is a dark-skinned male with light-colored eyes, wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and jeans, police said, and a balaclava or "shiesty" mask and gloves at the time of the incident.
No one was injured during the attempted abduction and the child was able to return home to the parents immediately after the incident, police said.
Law enforcement is actively searching for the truck and suspect. Police have asked residents to check security cameras for the truck or suspect.
Call Detective Bernard Schaffer of the Warrington Township Criminal Investigation Division with information on the truck, suspect, or security camera footage at 215-343-3311, ext. 222, or [email protected].
