A Perkasie man faces a felony charge of carrying a firearm without a license and a misdemeanor drug possession charge after a loaded 9mm pistol and five bags of suspected marijuana were found in an impounded vehicle under the passenger seat.
Hilltown Township Police said a traffic stop was conducted at Jan. 29, 2024 at 10:20 p.m. on Route 152 near Shirley Lane on the driver of a black 2019 Hyundai Sonata for driving without its headlights on.
The driver, Trajon Wilson, 20, and a passenger, Frank Eugene Wilson, 23, of the 60th block of South 3rd Street, Perkasie, were identified as occupants of the car, police said. While speaking with the Wilsons, police detected an odor of burnt and fresh marijuana emanating from the car, according to the complaint.
The driver refused a police request to search the vehicle, and the vehicle was then impounded for a search warrant, per the affidavit.
On Jan. 31, 2024, a search warrant was served on the impounded Hyundai.
Police said a Taurus G3 9mm pistol was found under the passenger seat where Frank Wilson was sitting. The pistol had a loaded magazine with 11 rounds of ammo. Police also found five small plastic bags with suspected marijuana residue on the passenger side floor of the car, per the complaint.
Authorities charged Wilson June 13, 2024, and he was arraigned July 17 before Magisterial District Judge Regina Armitage, who set bail at $50,000 unsecured, according to court documents. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Aug. 27 at 1:45 p.m. before Armitage.
Wilson is awaiting a preliminary hearing in Bensalem District Court 07-1-12 on numerous felony drug possession and eluding police charges stemming from a June 11, 2024 Bensalem Township Police arrest, according to court records.
He pleaded guilty in May 2021 to a misdemeanor drug charge in Montgomery County Common Pleas court, per court records.
